Guide Summary and Photographs

What an amazing day at sea! We got to see the Marine Big 5 on both our trips; flukes and breaching whales. We started off with a couple of Indian ocean humpback dolphins in the shallows, a bronze whaler shark at our sister company and then made our way to Pearly Beach where a breaching whale welcomed us. A very curious Southern right whale calf came to say hi and rolled around giving us a wave good bye as we left.

On the second trip the most exciting past was the surprise sighting of a small pod of bottlenose dolphins, swimming and splashing around. One of the dolphins spy hopped a few times and turned around in circles, just like a ballerina. This was almost like a behaviour you would see in a marine park, but much better seeing a free and wild dolphin doing it. So tell me again that animals don’t play!
