Guide Summary and Photographs
It was a special day throughout. Today, for the first time, we launched our brand new whale watching vessel, Dream Catcher. After leaving Gansbaai harbour we were heading to Dyer Island and Geyser Rock.
On our first trip for the day we spotted a Southern Right whale just as we were going to leave Dyer Island. It was amazing to see the whale opening and closing its mouth the whole time, since whales don’t normally feed in our waters. It was so amazing to see its baleen plates.
The second trip was just as amazing as the first one with all the Cape Fur seals, African penguins and Southern Right whales. On our way back to the Kleinbaai harbour we watches a Southern Right whale calf breaching close by. We truly had a perfect day on our new vessel.
