Guide Summary and Photographs
Sunshine and a cold breeze is what greeted us out on the big blue today…
We have been super lucky again and found Southern Right whales in the Pearly Beach area. All the mother and calf pairs we encountered were super relaxed around us. Some of them approached our boat and other were spy-hopping several times. One of the mothers surprised us by opening her mouth so we could see her baleen plates, which hang down from their upper jaws acting as filter. Today was definitely a spy-hopping day for the Southern Right whales.
On both trips we also saw a Great White shark around ‘Slashfin’, the shark cage diving vessel from our sister company. On Geyser Rock we got to see more and more big males as well we spotted the first new born pups for this year.
