There was a bit of a breeze blowing today, but it didn’t stop us getting out on two whale watching trips.
On both tours we traveled to Pearly Beach to see the Southern Right whales. And on both tours we saw Mum and calf pairs.
On the first tour we saw two pairs of whales with the Mums and calves very close together. The four whales seemed to be interacting with each other a little, like a play date!
On the second tour we spent time with a Mum and calf and had one very nice, close approach by the calf. Then we saw a breaching adult whale in the distance and watched this whale breach a few times, slap its flipper on the water and lift its tail once. Unfortunately the whale stopped being so active when we got closer to it, but it was still a wonderful sight to see.
On both tours we managed to see a Great White shark when we visited our colleagues at Slashfin, saw the amazing Cape Fur seals on Geyser Rock and on the second tour we managed to see an African penguin sitting on Dyer Island.
