Guide Summary and Photographs
What an amazing day with four out of the Marine Big 5.
On the first trip for the day we were heading straight towards Dyer Island, as our sister company told us they spotted some Southern Right whales. And as we came around the island we have been lucky to find three individuals just behind Geyser Rock. The whales seemed to have a great time, they were rolling around showing us their flipper and their flukes.
On the second trip we were heading towards Danger Point due to some westerly wind. However, we have been lucky to spot some Humpback whales on their migration. We truly had no words to describe their behaviour. The whales were breaching several times close to our vessel. We also encountered the same Southern Right whales as on our previous trip.
On both trips we visited the Cape Fur seal colony on Geyser Rock and spotted the African penguins close to Dyer Island and on the island itself. In the shallows we spotted some Humpback dolphins on our last tour, great to see them back in the area as it has been a while since we encountered them.
