Guide Summary and Photographs
During our two whale watching trips today, on beautiful calm seas, we saw Southern Right whale mothers with calves once again in the Pearly Beach area.
We feel incredibly privileged to still have a few Southern Rights hanging around in our area for whale watching this late in the season. This morning there were at least four Mother and calf pairs in the area. We didn’t get very close looks at the whales today, they were in quite shallow water and we stayed our respectful distance. It is up to the whales to approach the boats for a closer look.
On both tours we also got to see at least one Great White shark in very calm water next to our sister company Marine Dynamics. The Cape Fur seals were seen on Geyser Rock today in particularly large numbers as more and more pups are born each day at this time of year, and the large number of adult males around swells the colony.
On the second tour we also got to see two African Penguins sitting on the water briefly near the boat.
