Guide Summary and Photographs
Another day where we have been blessed to see some Southern Right whales. After launching from our harbour in Kleinbaai, we were headed straight to the Pearly Beach area were we found a few cow-calf pairs. All the whales we encountered today, where super relaxed around our vessel. We had mother spy-hopping a few times. On our way to Dyer Island we spotted two African penguins in the water, on both trips we had a juvenile and an adult. As we arrived in the world famous Shark Alley we were greeted by the playful Cape Fur seals. Most of them having a good time chilling on Geyser Rock and some were cooling down in the water, but always on the lookout for a shark. During our tour we also made a quick stop at the shark cage diving vessels, where we saw some great shark activity. Always a nice treat to see these beautiful apex predators. In the Uilenkraalsmond area we came across the Indian-Ocean Humpback dolphins. Out of the four we could identify three immediately. We saw ‘Captain Hook’ with her calf ‘Big Z’ and ‘Summer’ one of our regular visitors.
What a great day with two trips where we got to see the Marine Big 5.
