Guide Summary and Photographs
It has been yet another great day with amazing whale activity in the Pearly Beach area.
We had an east-south-easterly wind blowing the whole day and a lot of sunshine. It was quite warm during the two trips, but then again spring is just around the corner. On our morning trip a Southern Right whale surprised us with a breach in the distance. It’s not just amazing to see a breach but also to hear that big splash on the water.
On our second trip we encountered a group of five Southern Right whales split up into two and three. The group of three was busy displaying mating behaviour and the other two were just traveling relaxed close to our vessel ‘Dream Catcher’. We also passed our Cape Fur seal colony on Geyser Rock and we had a glimpse of a Great White shark at the beginning of our second trip.
