Guide Summary and Photographs
We started our day with two very relaxed Southern right whales not even 10 minutes out of Kleinbaao harbour. We spent spend the allowed time with these gentle giants and moved on to Slashfin. But unfortunately no sharks this morning. At the Island we found a African penguin and that followed with our regular Cape Fur seal visit.
Because of tide we launched from Gansbaai on our second trip, which gave us a bit more ground to explore. Heading back to the island we found a very shy Southern right whale but did not get to spend any time around it, as it moved off quickly. In Pearly Beach therefore we found a couple of Sothern Right whales relaxed around our boat. Our second stop at Slashfin was more successful and we got to see a Bronze whaler shark.
On our third trip we started with the Bronze whaler shark at Slashfin and were heading straight after to Pearly Beach for the whales. The whales were great to watch, as they were rolling around and showing parts of their flippers and flukes. After amazing approaches from the whales we were heading to Dyer Island and ended our day with more Cape Fur seals and African penguins.
