Guide Summary and Photographs
We are very happy to say that we ran three very successful trips today as we found some Southern Right whales on each of our whale watching trips.
On the morning tour we found a mother and calf pair not long into our trip and spent some time watching them as they slowly traveled to the east. On this tour we also got great looks at an Indian Ocean humpback dolphin, as well as a Great white shark, the Cape Fur seals and an African Penguin. This tour was lucky enough to see the Marine Big 5.
On the second tour we went to Pearly Beach and here we found two Mother and calf pairs of Southern Right whales in a small area. We spent some time watching both of them close together and got a couple of close looks at one pair. We also saw another mother and calf when we were on our way to Dyer Island. This tour also had a very good look at a Great White shark next to our sister company, as well as the ever present Cape Fur seals on Geyser Rock.
On our last tour we again found a mom and calf pair of Southern Rights at Pearly Beach and this calf was in quite a playful mood, rolling around on top of its mother. We were lucky enough to see it lying with its tail fluke draped over Mum’s back. This tour also saw a Great White shark, the Cape Fur seals and a large group of African Penguins in the distance sitting on Dyer Island.
