Today’s passengers braved a little wind out there, but were rewarded with an active mother and calf pair on both trips.
We did our whale watching on both trips off Pearly Beach today with mother and calf Southern Right whales once again. On the morning tour we had quite a big search before we found a playful calf rolling around with its Mum very close to shore. Mum also stuck her fin out of the water a few times. We also got to see another mother and calf pair briefly where the calf was lifting its head out a bit. On this trip we got a glimpse at a Great White shark underwater near our sister boat Slashfin.
On the second tour we also found a mother and calf again at Pearly Beach and watched the calf rolling around with its Mum again. We saw tails and fins out of the water once again. We are enjoying seeing the calves get a little more active as they get bigger. On this trip we got a good look at two Great White sharks next to Slashfin.
On both tours, as ever, the playful Cape Fur seals around Geyser Rock were entertaining their guests with their antics!
