31 December 2016 | Whale Watching Gansbaai

Guide Summary and Photographs

It was a great last day of 2016. We had great sightings throughout the day. We spotted some African penguins in the water all around the bay. While slowly passing the shallow areas along the coast we spotted at least six Great White sharks slowly moving up and down the beach. Geyser Rock, home to the Cape Fur seals was quite empty today, but we still had enough around to watch. In our last trip we were luck to find a Bryde’s whale. We also spotted some Giant petrels around Dyer Island. In the area of Uilenkraalsmond was a goal for the Trans Agulhas pencil duck race, which takes place every year.

Happy New Year everyone!
