Guide Summary and Photographs

After two days back on land, all of us were super excited to launch Dream Catcher once again. It has been lovely day with some clouds towards the end of our tour.

We were very fortunate to spot some dolphins just outside the harbour. We had a glimpse of the Humpback dolphin but then it seemed they disappeared on us, so we continued. But after another fifty meters we spotted the group again and encountered in total three adults and one juvenile. After our dolphin sighting we continued further towards an area called ‘the shallows’ where we’ve been lucky to have a quick look at a Great White shark at the cage diving boats.

On our way towards Pearly Beach and Dyer Island, we got a call from ‘Show Time’ one of our vessels saying they spotted two whales further behind the island. So we decided to go see the seals a bit later and were heading straight into deeper water to find these two whales. We have been lucky and came across two Humpback whales. The whales were very relaxed around our vessel, but stayed down for a bit before taking their next breath. However, we had to continue our tour and did go back to Dyer Island and Shark Alley where we saw thousands of Cape Fur seals. Lots of them were playing in the cold water, but having a great time. On our way around Dyer Island we managed to see three African penguins.
