Guide Summary and Photographs
Once again sunny skies (mostly) and calm seas greeted us on our three whale watching trips today.
On all three trips we spent time with a Southern Right whale Mum and her calf. In the Pearly Beach area we have at least a couple of pairs hanging around. On the first trip, when we got there, we saw the calf playing briefly with a Cape Fur seal! At one point both animals had their very different size flippers out of the water! (see photo)
We got some beautiful and close encounters with the whales who were very chilled out next to us. We also got to briefly see a Great White shark on each trip when we visited our sister company Marine Dynamics, and on every tour our incredible Cape Fur seal colony always thrills the passengers with their antics.
On the third tour of the day the passengers were incredibly lucky as we also got some very close looks at a small group of Indian Ocean Humpback dolphins that can be very elusive, and we also saw a group of African penguins sitting on the water. These passengers were lucky enough to see all the marine big five!
