Guide Summary and Photographs

It has been another sunny day with some light wind from the west, which stared to pick up during our trip.

Out of Kleinbaai harbour we slowly made our way passed Franskraal and Uilenkraalsmond and continued to the shark cage diving boats. After spending there a few minutes we continued to Pearly Beach to find some whales. We couldn’t find some Southern Right whales in this area today. Probably all started their migration back to the feeding grounds in the sub-Antarctic and we have to wait another 6 months to see them again in our waters. On our way to Dyer Island we have been lucky though and spotted two Bryde’s whale. one came up close to our vessel the other one was traveling a bit further off. Before entering the world famous Shark Alley we already could smell the Cape Fur seal colony as the wind was blowing straight towards us. Passing the colony with 60.000 seals, is always great to see for young and old. Before heading back we made our way around Dyer Island to see some seabirds of this area. Tomorrow we won’t be going to sea due to Christmas but we looking forward to be back on the water on the 26th of December.

Merry Christamas everyone!
