Once again we headed out in search of the Marine Big 5!
As usual we followed the route along the coast past Franskraal and the lagoon at Uilenkraalsmond. Upon arrival at the shark cage diving boat during our first tour we managed to see a white shark. Before heading to the islands we made a turn to Pearly Beach in the hope to find some Southern Right whales but weren’t lucky today. The Cape Fur seals in Shark Alley though were having a great time cooling down in the water.
On the second trip the luck was a bit more on our side, we spotted six Indian Ocean humpback dolphins close to shore and a white shark just another hundred meters further off. Along the way we also had a juvenile African penguin and the Cape Fur seals on Geyser Rock. As it was such a lovely day we took the route behind the island back to the harbour and spotted two Bryde’s whale close to some diving birds and a small bait ball. We have been very fortunate with our marine life today.
