Guide Summary and Photographs
So we ended our year on Whale Whisperer and what a wonderful day. We started of in very thick fog and could barely see 10m around the boat. But as soon as we came close to Dyer Island, the fog had cleared and the water was like a mirror. Our first animal was a African penguin, just lying on his side enjoying the calm sea. The seals at Geyser Rock smelled a bit more than usual, 60 000 wet dogs at once because of the dampness of the fog.
The Humpback dolphins were definitely the highlight of the day. I think they missed our vessel Whale Whisperer, because they came very close and gave us a few looks from under water. The visibility was the best its been all week, so we could see the dolphins nicely. Beautiful aqua blue and you could see the bottom at certain parts of the trip. A very good way to end 2017.
Happy new year!
