Daily Trip 22 December 2017

Guide Summary and Photographs

Today started overcast but with a flat and calm sea. Straight after launching from the Kleinbaai harbour we took course to the shark cage diving boats and stopped at our sister company Marine Dynamics, where we got to see a shadow of a shark. Afterwards we were heading straight to Pearly Beach to try and find some Southern Right whales. Passed De Klyde closer to Pearly Beach we spotted some spouts and were very pleased to still see some Southern Right whales around. The cow calve pair we encountered has been very relaxed around our vessel and was slowly traveling alongside us. While busy watching the whales we spotted a couple of Bottlenose dolphins heading south east. Before returning to port we stopped at the Cape Fur seal colony and made a closer pass at Dyer Island to see the endangered African penguin.
