Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa – Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.

Trip Summary 04 April 2026:

Another incredible day spent with Marine Dynamics. After departing Kleinbaai Harbour, we made our way into the bay where we were fortunate to encounter a Bryde’s whale, accompanied by stunning Cape gannets plunge-diving around it. Both of our whale-watching vessels also had great sightings of the local bronze whaler sharks cruising through the shallows. Our journey then took us past the kelp forests, giving everyone a chance to admire these underwater jungles and the life they support. At Geyser Rock, the playful Cape fur seals were out in full force, while on Dyer Island, the iconic African penguins stood out with their unmistakable black-and-white colouring.
