Guide Summary and Photographs

Whales, Penguins and Seals, Oh My! What an awesome day out on the water. Today saw clear blue skies and relatively calm conditions, not to mention some wonderful whale sightings. On all three of our trips today we were treated to numerous mother calf pairs, at one time having two different pairs within viewing distance from the boat. Furthermore, each trip was lucky enough to witness a brindle calf. These are whales that are born white and mature to a dark grey. This is only seen in approximately 4% of Southern Right Whales so it was a very special sighting for all  onboard. This particular brindle calf has been seen by Whale Whisperer on several occassions and we happily welcome more sightings! The viewing fun didn’t stop there, thanks to the great conditions we were able to get close enough to Dyer Island to view some of it’s penguin inhabitants and also visit Geyser Rock’s seal colony.
