We had a chilly start this morning, but it did not discourage the whales in the slightest as we had excellent sightings on each trip. The Southern Right whales were enjoying the swells in Pearly beach today, rolling around waving to us with their large pectoral flippers. We even spotted two brindle coloured whales among the group of six we were watching, an awesome sighting considering only 4% of calves are born with the brindle colour. Due to the tides we launched our second trip from Gansbaai harbour and as we were rounding Danger Point we were lucky enough to have five separate sightings of large Cape cormorant flocks flying out to go fishing. It was an excellent day out…
