The wind was virtually non-existent again today, with no swells, allowing us to view just how many whales were around the boat on each trip, I think our lowest count of the day was about six! We had another mating group today and lots of friendly mother-calf pairs. The highlight of the day is definitely completing the Marine Big 5 though, thanks to one little confused Bottlenose dolphin who was hanging around “Spotty” and his mother in the Franskraal Bay area. The dolphin probably loved all the fish the whales were rifling up from the bottom, and the Southern Right calf didn’t seem to mind the extra company, almost appearing to be playing with the dolphin! Nice to see “Spotty” making friends…
