Guide Summary and Photographs
We’ve been seeing more and more mother-calf pairs in the bay recently, and it’s easy to tell they are getting older as their curiosity grows! We had one very friendly calf this morning, who came right up to the side of the boat to check us out and say hi. We also had front row seats to watch one breaching mother right beside the boat, with her calf waiting patiently at the surface. As we were visiting Geyser Rock today, we spotted one of the first seal pups to be born this year. We’ve been seeing the big bulls slowly moving back onto the Island for a while, and now we definitely know that mating and birthing season for the Cape Fur seals is just around the corner! Can’t wait to see more of the cute little pups being born…
