Guide Summary and Photographs
We had a complete Marine Safari experience today! Only five minutes out the harbour, on our way to Dyer Island, we managed to spot a small raft of African Penguins out fishing for breakfast. It was a great day for the bird lovers, as soaring right above the Penguins were two Shy Albatross and a Giant Petrel! We then got to watch a half breach by a Great White Shark while visiting Slashfin, the shark cage diving boat, before heading to Geyser Rock to take a look at the Cape Fur Seals swimming in the water and relaxing on land. It was then time to find some whales, so we made our way to Pearly Beach where we spotted a juvenile Southern Right Whale who was putting on a real show for us, spy hopping and rolling around in the swells! On the journey back to the harbour, just as we thought we’d seen everything, we managed to round off the Marine Big 5, with a pod of Bottlenose Dolphins who were feeding by the edge of a kelp forest. Just goes to show, every day is a new adventure when you’re out on the water…
