Guide Summary and Photographs

After having a couple “no sea days”, it was good to get back on Whale Whisperer. Leaving Kleinbaai harbor we headed towards Pearly Beach, but stop of at our sister company, Marine Dynamics shark tours. There we spotted a large great white shark circling the shark cage diving boat, Slashfin. After spending time with the sharks we headed towards Pearly Beach hoping to find our whales. It was not long before several groups of Southern Right Whales were spotted. A group of three whales were very curious, frequently approaching our boat and often turning on their sides to look at us. This group consisted of two males and one female. They were very active at the surface which indicated possible mating behavior. Great weather and great animals made for an amazing day…-Rosie Bowyer (Marine Volunteer)
