There was love in the air this morning as we stumbled upon a mating group right as we reached Pearly beach on our first trip. The group consisted of five Southern Right whales with gorgeously white speckled bellies, making them appear to be cows floating in the water. The whales did not disappoint throughout the day, spotting a smaller mating group on the second trip and having one whale slowly approach us and pass right underneath the boat on our third trip! While viewing the colony of Cape Fur seals on Geyser rock today, we spotted one unfortunate youngster who had puncture wounds from what looked like a failed predation from a Great White shark! Let’s hope the little guy pulls through…
