Guide Summary and Photographs
The swells were on the larger side today but that just added to the beautiful scenery of the hot day! We are very happy to still be finding our Southern Right whale mother-calf pairs in the Pearly Beach area. Today we were treated to watching the calves exercise their muscles swimming in the swells, in preparation for the long migration they have ahead of them! The clients on our first trip were fortunate to sight some of the Bryde’s whales passing through the area, it’s always exciting when we get to spot different species of whales! After that, watching a Great White shark circle our sister company, Marine Dynamics, shark cage diving boat just added to the excitement before visiting Geyser Rock where the large swells were making very picturesque scenes as they splashed over the relaxing Cape Fur seals. The numerous amounts of seabirds that we spotted along the way, including Cape cormorants, Giant petrels and terns, were a fantastic addition to our awesome day… – Yvonne Nuessing (Marine Volunteer)
