Penguins for days! Eco trip 17 January 2020

Great trip! At the shark cage diving boat Slashfin we spent some time with bronze whaler sharks as well as a short-tailed stingray, they are the largest species of stingray in the world! Their Crew informed us that we had just missed a 5m Great White Shark with just a few minutes! It’s like clockwork, yesterday the water temperature dropped by a few degrees and already a massive White Shark in the bay. Moving on we picked up some kelp and took a long cruise around the Clyde reef system before seeing some dynamic birdlife at Dyer Island as well as some Cape fur seals. We ended off with a single adult penguin taking some very young blues hunting for possibly their very first time! We can proudly say these chicks were just released from our African Penguin and Seabird Sanctuary’ APSS’ after suffering from starvation. Great to see that good work pays off!  All smiles here!
