Guide Summary and Photographs
We saw both “Patch Adams” and “Spotty”, another mother-calf pair we know very well based on the speckled white pattern of the calf, on our trips today. Both these calves are at least 4 months old and have been in the bay for quite some time now, as they were the first two mother-calf pairs we saw back at the beginning of the whale season. As we started to move away from “Patch Adams” and his mum, towards Dyer Island, they changed swimming directions to follow us and came right up to the boat, I think they’ve been missing us! Over at Geyser rock we can tell the mating season is just around the corner due to all the bulls starting to arrive at the island and lots of “arguments” going on between them, makes for a great show and a great day out…
