Guide Summary and Photographs
There was a new calf in the bay today, one that we haven’t spotted before, who was speckled white and had fluke that looked as if it had been splattered with white by a paint brush! We also spotted two other familiar mother-calf pairs, who were being very relaxed just floating at the surface. On our way to see the African penguins and Cape Fur seals, we found a small mating group of only two Southern Right whales, but boy were they being active! The female was continuously rolling on her side to look at us and then flopping on her back. They even swam right under the front of our boat after having waved their massive pectoral flippers at us several times! It was truly some incredible sightings today and a great way to see nature at its best…
