Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa – Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 11 March 2026:
What a special day at Marine Dynamics! Our first sighting of today has been nothing short of extraordinary! The infamous Orca pair, Port and Starboard, have made it into our bay. We got to spend a good amount of time with the individuals before they made their way into the narrow kelp forest. Within our bay, we also encountered a rather big raft of the critically endangered African Penguins. With a boost of confidence, being a big raft, the penguins calmly floated next to us. Around the island system, we made a short stop closer to the home of our seabirds, Dyer Island and paid our Cape fur seal colony on Geyser Rock a visit.
