Today was winter day at sea with some swell and a cold wind from the west, we could even see the snow on top the mountains that has fallen over the few days. After having searched for some wildlife at Danger Point we cruised to Dyer Island where we saw some nice penguins posing for us. Also, in Shark Alley on geyser Rock we spotted a penguin in-between all the Cape Fur seals. In the Pearly Beach area, we found a few more penguins at sea, today was definitely all about the endangered African Penguin.
What species did we see today?

As one of only 17 penguin species left in the world (and the only one on the african continent), the african penguin often breed in offshore colonies, such as Dyer Island.

With a local population of 60,000, it's no wonder our guests capture so many photographs of these wonderfully playful marine mammals.
