3 Trips and a look at 3 of our Marine Big 5, 30 October 2019
Written by October 30 2019

What a beautiful day out at sea! After a few days of weather that wouldn’t let us go out, we were all happy to be back in our element and the day did not disappoint. Our trips today were fortunate enough to see some beautiful and elegant Bronze Whaler sharks around the cage diving boats after which we were treated to great sightings of the Southern Right whales and their young ones that are currently here at this time of the year along our coastline. Finally we were absolutely amazed with the Cape Fur Seals today as many of them were in the water due to the heat of the day; splashing around and having fun in the waves. Definitely some great sightings throughout the day and we are also really happy to be out at sea on our marine adventures.

What species did we see today?

The Bronze whaler (also known as Copper sharks) here in Kleinbaai are very curious and interactive. These sharks eat mostly fish, with sardines being one of their favourites.

With a local population of 60,000, it's no wonder our guests capture so many photographs of these wonderfully playful marine mammals.
Southern Right Whale Southern Right Whale
Southern right whales attract thousands of visitors every year to experience these gentle giants off the South African coast.
