Marine Big 5 Daily Blog 04 February

Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.

Trip Summary 04 February 2023:

We had another sunny day with a light breeze here in Kleinbaai. As usual, we started the tour by heading along the coast through the shallow waters of the bay and past Uilenkraalsmond. In the shallower waters along the coast, they also anchor for the shark cage diving and we stopped there for a few moments to see some bronze whaler sharks. Next, we were passing a reef and headed into some deeper water where we found a Bryde’s whale. And after a stop at Dyer Island to see the penguins and other seabirds we continued to the famous Shark Alley. Geyser Rock is still packed with Cape fur seal pups that are now slowly starting to swim in the waters around their colony.
