Marine Big 5 Daily Blog 11 July

Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa – Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.

Trip Summary 11 July 2026:

Another beautiful day well spent with amazing sightings. The day started off with us following the coastline. A stop was made near our local shark diving vessel, where the Bronze whaler sharks were seen investigating the area. On Dyer Island, it was a bit difficult to spot the African Penguins as they were hidden behind the boulders. The Cape fur seals greeted us in Shark Alley, and Bryde’s and Humpback whales were observed in deeper waters, ending the day with extraordinary sightings.
