Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 02 April 2023:
Incredible day at sea for our guests and the crew alike. Even though the whales managed to hide away from us today, the rest of the wildlife made it up for us. We were so lucky to witness multiple bait balls with birds going at them: Cape Gannets going into the water as torpedos, penguins in multiple rafts, and many other incredible bird species like White-chinned petrels, Sooty shearwaters, and even a few Shy albatrosses flying over our heads. After that, we made our way to Shark Alley to enjoy the company of Cape Fur seals and popped into Sponge Bay to spot a few penguins on land. In the shallows, we were awed by quite a performance around our sister company’s shark cage diving vessel – two Great White sharks and a few Bronze Whalers trying to get to a decoy. And we were so happy to make it to land just before the rain.
