Seals, penguins and sharks! Marine Big 5 Daily Blog 24 November
Written by November 24 2021
Today we had some good time at sea and wind that picked up throughout the day. On both trips we were heading along the coast towards the shark cage diving boats to see some bronze whaler sharks. At the islands we observed the Cape fur seals, the males are still fighting over females and their territory. At Dyer Island we spotted a couple of penguins on some rocks close to the water.

What species did we see today?

With a local population of 60,000, it's no wonder our guests capture so many photographs of these wonderfully playful marine mammals.
African Penguin African Penguin
As one of only 17 penguin species left in the world (and the only one on the african continent), the african penguin often breed in offshore colonies, such as Dyer Island.

The Bronze whaler (also known as Copper sharks) here in Kleinbaai are very curious and interactive. These sharks eat mostly fish, with sardines being one of their favourites.
