We had a lovely day out at sea, spotting 4 of the Marine Big 5 including a beautiful Brydes Whale. We started off our trip looking out for the whale in shallow water, with some foot prints giving away the presence of a baleen animal in the area. After some waiting, we were luck to have the whale come right up next to us, giving us an awesome view as he surfaced. This sighting just goes to show how in nature, patience pays off.
We also had a special sighting of a Great White Shark, with an active animal hanging out around our sister company ‘s boat, Slashfin. We’ve been having really consistent sightings of the Great Whites recently, with many coming into the bay at this time of year, generally to see if they get themselves a seal as a meal.
We went on to see our African Penguins and Cape Fur Seals over at the island systems. We had a few penguins sitting at the top of the island when we pulled into Sponge Bay, where we spent some time before taking our last stop at Geyser Rock where we watched the seals frolic and play.
