Marine Big 5 Daily Blog – 01 February

Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.

Trip Summary 01 February 2022:

Along the coast, our tour started with two African penguins followed by bronze whaler sharks around the shark cage diving boats. After we had some fantastic looks at the sharks, we continued towards deeper waters, but first made a stop for thousands of Cape Cormorants that were flying towards the coast. In the deep, we had some mist appearing, which quickly cleared up as we got to Geyser Rock to see the Cape fur seals. Closer to Dyer Island we made two stops to see the penguins and learn more about the island itself.
