Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa – Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 01 July 2026:
Today’s trip was nothing short of extraordinary, with incredible marine wildlife sightings from start to finish. We began our adventure in the shallows, where we were treated to the impressive sight of Bronze whaler sharks cruising through the clear waters. As we ventured into deeper water, things seemed quiet at first, but the ocean soon rewarded our patience. We were fortunate enough to encounter not just one, but four humpback whales. To make the day even more special, we spotted a pair of Southern right whales gracefully swimming along. Our journey then took us to Shark Alley, where the Cape fur seals were lively and playful, swimming effortlessly around the colony and entertaining everyone on board with their curious nature. Finally, we made our way to Dyer Island. Although the African penguins were difficult to spot from the boat, we were lucky enough to see one swimming alongside us, bringing a perfect end to an unforgettable day filled with some of the most iconic marine wildlife our coastline has to offer.
