Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa – Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 03 October 2026:
Another great day out on the water with plenty to see along the way. Southern right whales were spotted around Pearly Beach and throughout the bay, with several sightings keeping everyone busy looking out across the water. At Geyser Rock, the Cape fur seals were gathered around the island, with plenty of activity in and around the colony. We also stopped at Dyer Island, where the African penguins were out and about. To top it all off, we once again spotted the special Pintado petrel.

The Bronze whaler (also known as Copper sharks) here in Kleinbaai are very curious and interactive. These sharks eat mostly fish, with sardines being one of their favourites.
