Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 05 August 2023:
A beautiful day to be on the sea with some great conditions and even better sightings. The first trip of the day got lucky very early on in our trip with an encounter with three adult Southern Right whales not too far to the right of our harbour. This group was calm and relaxed showcasing some behaviour associated with mating throughout the viewing. We made our way to the islands next to enjoy some time viewing the African penguins on Dyer Island and the Cape fur seals of Geyser Rock. A special sighting occurred as we made we approached the point with a group of Humpback whales also seen, including two adults and a newborn calf.
