Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 07 February 2023:
We had a fantastic day at sea! After a stop at the shark cage diving boats we moved beyond a reef system and through deeper waters before stopping for a group of Giant Petrel. After a visit closer to Dyer Island we passed the Cape fur seal colony before heading again into deeper waters. This time we have been lucky to find a Bryde’s whale and even a sunfish close by. Throughout the tour, we also spotted a great variety of seabirds out at sea.

The Bronze whaler (also known as Copper sharks) here in Kleinbaai are very curious and interactive. These sharks eat mostly fish, with sardines being one of their favourites.
