Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa – Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 08 November 2025:
We had another day in a windswept bay with some beautiful sightings of southern right whales. In the bay of Pearly Beach, we still have a few southern right whales having a good time with their young before soon starting their journey into the southern ocean. Around the shark cage diving boats, we could see some Bronze whale sharks, and at the famous Shark Alley, we observed thousands of Cape fur seals. One of our stops was closer to Dyer Island to see the African Penguin.

What species did we see today?

As one of only 17 penguin species left in the world (and the only one on the african continent), the african penguin often breed in offshore colonies, such as Dyer Island.
