Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 09 October 2024:
We had a calm sea only a light wind in the morning but a day to remember with incredible southern right whales and other marine life. The day started with southern right whales just outside Kleinbaai. During the day we encountered several more whales some being super curious and approaching our vessel to have a closer look. The Cape Fur seal colony was another highlight of the day seeing multiple males already and thousands of females. At Dyer Island, we got to see some penguins and plenty of Cape Cormorants. During the day we also saw the Bronze Whaler sharks on most of our tours.

The Bronze whaler (also known as Copper sharks) here in Kleinbaai are very curious and interactive. These sharks eat mostly fish, with sardines being one of their favourites.
