Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 10 September 2024:
As usual, we welcomed our guests aboard Dream Catcher and left Kleinbaai Harbour behind us. Today we didn’t have to travel far as we found southern right whales just past Uilenkraalsmond. It was beautiful to watch them being so relaxed in the shallow waters and alongside our vessel. next we passed the shark cage diving boats and got several looks of the Bronze Whaler sharks. Finally arrived at Dyer Island we scanned the island with binoculars and got rewarded to see a few penguins. The Cape fur seals were another highlight throughout the tours and a great sighting we will cherish for a long time.

The Bronze whaler (also known as Copper sharks) here in Kleinbaai are very curious and interactive. These sharks eat mostly fish, with sardines being one of their favourites.
