Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa – Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 16 August 2025:
What a great day on the water! We had a beautiful morning filled with whales, and there were even more sightings later in the day, as the wind picked up. The species we spotted during the day were southern right whales as well as humpback whales. At Geyser Rock, the waters were busy as usual with thousands of Cape fur seals, and on Dyer Island, we managed to spot a penguin too. Closer to the coast at the shark cage diving boats we briefly saw a Bronze Whaler shark.

What species did we see today?
