Marine Big 5 Daily Blog 16 March

Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.

Trip Summary 16 March 2023:

After some winds over the past couple of days, we still had some swell rolling through the bay. In the coastal waters, we stopped at the shark cage diving boat and got to see some Bronze whaler sharks. After a stop at our main reef system, we approached Dyer Island to see the endangered African Penguin. We also stopped closer to Geyser Rock, home to our Cape fur seals. In the deeper waters, it seemed quiet but closer to Danger Point we were lucky to see a Bryde’s whale.
