Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 20 November 2024:
We again had luck finding some Southern right whales and other marine life. At the shark cage diving boats it has been a bit quiet today so we moved on to Pearly Beach where we had wonderful sightings of Southern right whales including breaches and close-ups. After watching these gentle giants we continued towards Geyser Rock where we saw thousands of Cape fur seals and what a great time to see them. As we are in the middle of their breeding season we get to see the big bulls and the first couple of Cape fur seal pups. At Dyer Island, we saw the critically endangered African Penguins, Cape Cormorants and Greater Crested Terns amongst others.
