Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 23 November 2023:
It was a lovely day out at sea today and we were more than grateful for it after a few days of bad weather leaving us unable to get out on the water. Our first trip was lucky enough to spot two endangered humpback dolphins who appeared for a brief look before diving under the water. On all our trips today we were lucky enough to spot some bronze whaler sharks at the shark cage diving boats before moving on to Pearly beach to try and find some whales. after a little bit of searching, we were lucky to find southern right whales on all of our trips today, a few of them deciding to come up closer to the boat to inspect us, giving our guests some phenomenal photo opportunities. Once we said goodbye to the whales we made our way over to the islands where we saw both our colony of 60 000 cape fur seals, but also some African penguins on the rocks on Dyer Island. What a wonderful day out on the sea, we cannot wait for what tomorrow will bring.

With a local population of 60,000, it's no wonder our guests capture so many photographs of these wonderfully playful marine mammals.
Bronze Whaler Shark Bronze Whaler Shark
The Bronze whaler (also known as Copper sharks) here in Kleinbaai are very curious and interactive. These sharks eat mostly fish, with sardines being one of their favourites.
